This Privacy Statement outlines the information Dairy Farmers of Canada may collect and how we may use that information. This Privacy Statement applies only to the GET A LOAD OF MILK website that is intended for use by residents of Canada, excluding Quebec residents. This Privacy Statement is subject to Canadian legislation on this matter, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, as well as other legislation and applicable rules.

II. Personally-Identifiable Information

Dairy Farmers of Canada will only collect personally identifiable information about you (such as your name, address, telephone number, email address, age and, occasionally, information on preferences and consumption patterns) if you provide it to us voluntarily. You can choose not to provide us with such information although this may sometimes affect your ability to create your profile and save your favourite information, participate in certain games and promotions, including contests, offers of product samples or information, or the sending of messages through some of our websites or interactive advertisements.

III. Use of Personally-Identifiable Information

Dairy Farmers of Canada may collect and use your personally identifiable information to organize contests and promotional activities, contact contest winners, send newsletters or answer questions. This information may also be used to help us better understand your needs and preferences and how we may improve the products and services that we offer you and to contact you.

The personal information we collect is used solely for the purpose for which it was collected. Your consent to the collection, use and disclosure of information for secondary marketing purposes (e.g., mailing or emailing of promotional offers, and subscriptions to electronic newsletters) or for surveys is not a mandatory requirement for participating in the contests we organize.

We may also conduct contests, games and promotions through other platforms such as Facebook, YouTube or other social media. We may use Facebook Connect functionality, which enables users to participate by connecting their existing Facebook account in a trusted environment. Facebook Connect provides us with access to basic information contained in a user's Facebook profile: your and your friends' names, profile pictures, gender, user IDs, connections, and any content shared using the Everyone privacy setting. We may also request specific permissions from the user to access more than the basic information such as profile information, pictures and videos. We may also request permission to post status messages, notes, photos or videos to users' wall. Facebook privacy rules apply to all Facebook Connect environments; users have total control over permissions granted and can edit settings for apps, games and websites, via their Facebook account. When you allow permission to a Dairy Farmers of Canada application to use the content of your profile, we then have the right to use the information for the purposes of the application but we are not storing any information that we are pulling from your profile. All users have the option to allow or deny permission to Dairy Farmers of Canada; however, if permission is denied, the user will not be able to use the Dairy Famers of Canada application.

Your information may be shared with agents or contractors of Dairy Farmers of Canada in connection with services that these individuals or entities perform for Dairy Farmers of Canada. Otherwise, Dairy Farmers of Canada will not disclose your personally identifiable information to others without your consent. The information and promotions in Dairy Farmers of Canada's websites are directed at residents of Canada, excluding Quebec residents, and are valid only in Canada unless otherwise indicated on the website. Agents or contractors of Dairy Farmers of Canada who have access to your personally identifiable information in connection with providing services for Dairy Farmers of Canada are required to keep the information confidential and are not permitted to use such information for any other purpose.

V. Children

This website is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. In all cases, we encourage parents and guardians to participate in their children's activities and to supervise them when they surf on the Internet. Parents and guardians may have access to the information submitted by their minor child, and correct or delete it. They may also ask us to no longer contact the child, if applicable.

VI. Information on Third Parties

Your friends' email addresses or other types of personal information you supplied when inviting them to enter a contest or participate in a promotion or when sending them a page from our website, if applicable, will not be collected or kept by us, unless these individuals have entered the contest or participated in a promotion on their own and/or have agreed to receive information from us.

VII. Non-personally Identifiable Information Collected Automatically

We may collect information about you that is not personally identifiable such as the type of Internet browser or computer operating system you are using and the domain name of the website from which you linked to our site. In addition, when you view one of our websites, we may store some information on your computer in the form of a "cookie" or similar file. Cookies allow us to tailor a website or promotion to better match your interests or preferences.
